Qualifications:
- Ability to operate equipment after proper training
- -Equipment Used may include; stoves, ovens, steamer, microwave ovens, steam table, slicers, buffalo chopper, food processor, mixers, french fryer, steam vessels, garbage disposal, food service carts, kitchen utensils and small equipment
- Warm and understanding toward children
- Ability to work as a team and cooperate with others
- Ability to read and write English as needed to safely perform job duties.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to identify proper sanitation practices and its importance in the kitchen
- Ability to follow institutional food service recipes and use of food service equipment
- Represents company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions
- Ability to do mathematical calculations
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook food in accordance with Company standards
- Follow standard recipes for daily preparation of foods. Determine appropriate quantities of food items to be prepared and make necessary adjustments according to Company production records
- Coordinate work with other foodservice employees to prevent waste and utilize leftovers
- Maintain an orderly work area
- Responsible for steam table arrangement, and for replenishing food items on serving line
- Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, standard portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures (hot food hot; cold food cold)
- Implement company standards of sanitation and safety
- Participates in preparation and service of meals for special events
- Maintains required forms and records as assigned
- Assist in the daily cleanup of work station and major cleaning of refrigerators, storerooms and equipment as scheduled
